Azuero

Fundación Avifauna has promoted the study of great green macaw and Azuero parakeet populations in the southwest of the Azuero Peninsula. This work established the first baseline on the status of both species and identified key trees that provide them with food and nesting sites, generating evidence to guide their conservation.

Results have been shared with local organizations that now sustain monitoring and reforestation efforts, supporting habitat recovery and the protection of these emblematic species.
